Southern Derby Cup
During the Carolina RailHawks participation in the USL, Triangle Soccer Fanatics helped run and promote the Southern Derby. The fan-created competitions was developed by the fans of the teams in the Southeastern United States to promote a geographical rivalry among teams and fans.
Fans of the Raleigh Capital Express were among the fans that created and purchased the first Southern Derby Cup. When the Carolina RailHawks joined the USL in 2007, TSF took up the mantle of local supporters to run the competition. The RailHawks won the Cup in their first season and never relinquished it during their 3 years in the USL. When Carolina moved to NASL, the RailHawks dropped out of the competition due to a lack of regularly scheduled matches against our local rivals.
