After being announced as a new signing by the Wilmington Hammerheads of USL-2, former RailHawks goalkeeper John O'Hara has now been spotted in the KC Wizards training camp by the good folks over at SGFsoccer.com.
It would appear that with Kevin Hartman and Eric Kronberg battling for the top two spots, O'Hara is likely auditioning for the Reserves side keeper role or else just getting in some early fitness training before heading back to the Hammerheads.
O'Hara, who was expected to be the RailHawks inaugural season starter when he signed from Irish Premier League side Sligo Rovers was upstaged in preseason by Chris McClellan who came through the open tryout system to win the starting role with the RailHawks and never look back. Although O'Hara's record in league play (0-3,3.0 GAA) wasn't that pretty, you have to keep in mind that the league games that John played for the RailHawks were during that dismal period of time in which the RailHawks were struggling for depth in the back due to injuries and suspensions. After all, it was O'Hara's clean sheet against MLS side Chivas USA that will go down in RailHawks history as the first win for the franchise.

I wish John luck wherever he ends up. I had expected to see him playing in Ireland again...
