Greenville, NC native and recent UNC graduate Michael Harrington wasted no time in sending out a warning to MLS defenses that the defending position he played at UNC wasn't necessarily his most dangerous. Inside 3 minutes into his MLS debut for the Kansas City Wizards, the #3 draft pick, playing left midfield, used his speed to get around DC United defender Facundo Erpen and then nutmegged Troy Perkins from an extremely tight angle for his first career professional goal. The goal was the first of 6 in a wild affair that saw visiting KC down DC United 4-2 on Saturday night at RFK Stadium.
