Just days after being added to the USA World Cup squad, former Tar Heel Greg Berhalter has signed a 2 year contract with 1860 Munich of the German 2nd Division. Berhalter most recently captained his Energie Cottbus side to a third-place and promotion spot in the Zweite Bundesliga. Berhalter, who was out of contract with Cottbus, chose to stay in the 2nd division with the move to Munich. He moves to 1860 on a free transfer and is under contract through June 2008.
