Augusta kept their US Open Cup hopes alive with a 2-1 win against the Raleigh Elite. The loss eliminates the Elite from US Open qualification. Like most of the Southern Conference, the Fireball need to win their final game (Saturday, at Nashville) and hope that Laredo stumbles at the DFW Tornados on Sunday in order to secure the second place in the Southern Conference behind the Carolina Dynamo.
