In their effort to climb back into playoff position, the Carolina RailHawks have added yet another former Rochester Rhino to the lineup as
Rey Ángel Martínez Mendivel is set to be unveiled by the club at a press conference scheduled for next Thursday as they announce a formal partnership with the Mexican Consulate General in Raleigh. Both the spanish-speaking Martínez and new signing Ronald Cerritos will be on hand at the conference, exhibiting the RailHawks' continued outreach to the local hispanic community.
"Boom Boom" Martínez is a 28 year old forward/midfielder from Cuba. He has scored two goals for his country in 17 appearances and scored 8 times in 51 appearances for the Rhinos dating back to 2005. Martínez has traveled with the team to Minnesota for Friday's match and will be available for Coach Schweitzer's selection.
